Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in textile. Thinking through making and allowing the cloth to lead my work are core principles of my practice. My work is heavily led by extensive research that allows me to fully explore how my thoughts and experiences affect me and also wider society.

Cloth is Skin, second skin, protection and shelter. We are rarely without cloth – clothing, blankets, furnishings. We are born and swaddled in cloth, we die and are shrouded in cloth. It is always with us.
Thread and needle are slow, meditative tools, allowing for deep thought and contemplation. Repetitive and help to regulate the body. They are also laborious tools that work more than the fingers(contrary to popular belief) – arms, back, neck and eyes tire often. They demand rest of the body
My work is rooted in not just feminist discourse in art or in life as a feminist but also in discourse surrounding disability activism and theory, LGBTQ+ theory and activism among other things
