Therese McKeon

Statement

I am retired firstly from Primary teaching then founding a design led fabric company.

My fun art journey began after a couple of courses in an arts and crafts college just outside London! I was hooked!! And still am! I love experimentation, colour, finding new and innovative ways of  adding a twist to  items.

I am fascinated by the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi  where the broken is made beautiful again.

I initially designed hand painted silk scarves.

These I very successfully sold  over a couple of years. This  led me into making funky jewellery using everything from paper to rubber.

My present passion is using all types of shells. These include  seashells and eggshells.

I use these  to make jewellery,  including funky rings, unusual   bracelets and bold pendants.

i have just completed a range of wall art incorporating shells.

My profits I give to the Anthony  Nolan Trust . A small charity which find stem cell donors for patients suffering  with leukaemia . . Our family owe then a great debt of thanks.
