Statement
My work is rooted in an ongoing exploration of the natural world — particularly the shifting, layered environments of the sea. Through abstraction, I aim to evoke not the literal image of landscape, but the sensations it stirs: the slow pull of the tide, the texture of submerged forms, the quiet weight of water held in stillness. Each painting is a response to place, time, and elemental rhythm — filtered through memory and emotion.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas and mixed media. I build surfaces through intuitive layering, erosion, and mark-making. I’m drawn to edges — the intertidal, the liminal, the just-visible — where things are neither fixed nor fully revealed. Texture becomes language; colour becomes tide.
In works like Echoes Beneath, Beneath the Surface, and Moon’s Wake, I explore the traces left by movement, the ghosts of tidal flow, and the silent dialogue between light and depth. These are not depictions, but impressions — visual murmurs drawn from the boundary between land, sea, and the self.
