Shauna Melvin

Artist Biography 
Shauna Melvin is a Canadian born Artist, currently living and working in the UK.
She is a graduate of the Art Education Programme at Concordia University (2004) in Montreal Quebec and has since spent many years traveling the world to places in Europe, Australia, Asia and now the UK. She has gained valuable experience teaching Art and English in schools and community settings, while developing her own passion and style for Abstract Art. 
Shauna now resides in Scotland with her family, where she works in a school for pupils with Additional Support Needs, while continuing to pursue her love for Painting. 
Shauna’s influences are artists like, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, John-Michel Basquiat, Tom Thomson and Pablo Picasso. She is greatly inspired by the vibrant colours and textures in both nature and architecture and enjoys conveying these themes in her paintings through the use of multi media and multi-layering techniques.
Shauna is drawn to the Emotive power of Art and paints to appeal to the heart, emotions and the soul of her audience through her work.
