Alan Muir

My name is David Muir I am submitting this on behalf of my brother who died last year aged 39.

Alan was always a very creative and talented artist from a very early age. Alan struggled for many years with chronic pain, addiction and depression it was during this period he produced his deepest and most enduring work.

His style during this period is generally abstract and expressive which, I believe, was a manifestation of his inner turmoil. This art was also therapeutic and provided an outlet for his emotion. As you can see some of the less abstract works demonstrate a peace through nature. Alan worked in oil, acrylic, spray paint and watercolour.

The art submitted for your review was mostly created between 2019-2021.
