I use my passion for pixels, portraits and three dimensional art to create images of icons, musicians and dignitaries. The process starts by digitally dissecting the photograph into a series of pixelated, symmetrical coloured dots. Each sector is assigned an acrylic paint colour code which will be transferred to the elements chosen for the final piece. The components employed for the portrait will have a direct association to the subject in a genre I like to label "ASSOCIART". All the coloured elements are then arranged and fixed onto their designated area within the grid, in a complex union to establish the final artwork. The completed work can be viewed up close to realise the detail of each pixel or from a far to truly appreciate the bigger picture.
