Statement
Katarzyna Zurakowska was born on the 13th of July 1972 and she has been living in Great Britain for the last 18 years. She has finished technical college where she spent 5 years studying freehand drawing and designing for architectual purposes which gained her an HND in general building. Her first paintings date back to 1990. She is a self taught painter and her favourite medium is oil.
Katarzyna's paintings are insipired by nature and that is why she most commonly paints landscapes. In these landscapes; reality, emotions and fantasy, combine together into a unique collages. The applied colour schemes and surprising contrasts aim to introduce elements of ambiguity into realism, which provoke individual interpretations of her work.
The unforgettable beauty of the Scottish countryside constantly inspires the author to create new art projects.
