Ladislav Smrcek

Hello, my name is Ladislav Smrcek and I am a Czechwegian artist based in Scotland. After retiring from my career as an aeronautical engineer, I reignited a lifelong passion for creativity by completing a HND in Art and Design in Glasgow. These studies deepened my skills in painting, mixed media, and expressive techniques. My work is shaped by a love of music, landscape, and emotion—often exploring the connection between my Czech heritage and the Scottish environment I’ve called home for over 40 years. I am continually inspired by the contrast and harmony between these two cultures. Now working as an artist, I am committed to developing and sharing my creative voice. I am particularly interested in opportunities like The Big Art Show, which celebrate how art can uniquely connect with people across time, place, and experience.
