I have always been interested in art and after many years in education and teaching and now devote her time to my own painting and drawing.  I am is particularly interested in portraiture and have studied advanced figurative drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art, the University of Strathclyde as well as other providers.  I have undertaken specialist courses in classical painting both here in the UK and further afield in Europe and the USA. I also  studied anatomy under Alan McGowan to develop my skills in portraiture and figurative work and have been involved in the organisation and management of life drawing classes at Wasps Studios in Glasgow for the last 20 years. 

I draw inspiration from John Singer Sargent, Egon Schiele and more contemporary artists such as Jenny Saville and Joan Eardley. In my work, I use oil, acrylic, pastel and/or mixed media and  also enjoys painting flowers, animals and expressive landscapes. 

I am President of the Glasgow Southern Art Club having been secretary for 4 years previously and am an Artist member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists. I have exhibited widely across Scotland in many galleries and exhibitions such as the RGI and Paisley Art Institute. I also support a number of Charity Art exhibitions and have won the “Best Painting” Award at the Christian Aid Anniversary Exhibition (2020).

I very much enjoys the interaction and stimulation achieved through meeting and working with other artists and is continuing to develop new approaches and innovation in my work.
