The project I am submitting for consideration is a painting named "Womb." The project primarily deals with the female body and the body as a home in an autobiographical way; the paintings were created using my own body and interacting with the paint physically and intimately. My output often references my past and traumas linked to my body both physically and mentally as a result of suffering from Complex Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and a Psychosis diagnosis. I feel that the paintings I am offering form a cohesive narrative, dealing with themes such as identity, the body and expression of feelings through the medium. At the same time, I consider my work to be accessible to a range of audiences, whether it be through its relatability or by the dialogue that my paintings open on themes lesser spoken about in daily rhetoric.
