Carraig Alasdair (rè-sholais)

Carraig Alasdair (rè-sholais), Painting
Carraig Alasdair (rè-sholais)
Carraig Alasdair or Ailsa Craig is often on our horizon. A station in the Firth of Clyde, a marker for all of our time. Sweeney described it as a hard station. Sometimes the moon interplays and lights the way. This small painting came out of studio practice and inspired maybe subconsciously by multiple journeys to Arran or Ireland, Kintyre or Cumbrae. The first time I went to the island I encountered a seal.
