Recovery is a painting made in response to my journey and progress made with my own mental health. After being hospitalised twice for psychotic and depressive episodes, I was forced to readjust to a life in which I have to be hyperaware of my own emotions, introspectively looking out for changes in my mental state. Although recovering from past traumas and negative thought patterns is difficult and a lifelong journey, Recovery was made to celebrate the feelings of accomplishment and new lust for life that comes with recovering from mental illness.
