This was painted in oil on primed MDF and has been varnished. The inspiration for the painting is a trip I made to the USA in 2009, where I spent some time in the very different cities of Boston (Massachusetts) and Austin (Texas). Like most people of my age, I watched a lot of American TV as a child and I think these visual images have stuck with me! I had several attempts at this painting before finally achieving a result I was happy with.
