Yellow Tulips have been painted using a palette knife to create a thick impasto texture.This painting was inspired by the strength and beauty within Horatios garden. I chose to paint with the palette knives to emphasise the metaphorical structure and robustness of the tulips growing in Horatios garden. The primary colour Yellow was chosen to reflect the contrast found between the blandness of the clinical ward and the robust garden full of new growth.
