This is an acrylic painting on canvas and it is set in a simple wooden frame. The context is the interior of my garden shed and some of the tools in it. I had recently bought a push lawnmower because I could remember from my childhood our mower and I liked the idea of being able to mow the lawn without cables, batteries or petrol. The unusual footwear is, in fact, my slippers. Prudence favours not wearing one’s slippers in the garden but humans aren’t always prudent. I’m holding a spade in this picture but that is only for the benefit of the image. I have ‘wellies’ for when I really use the spade.
