This impressionist oil painting is done on wooden board and is set in an old, gold ornate wooden frame. It records a bit of the landscape I see when I travel along the A737 towards Paisley and close to the Renfrewshire village of Howwood. The land rises to the east of that road as you travel along and I was interested in a part of it in which the terrain falls away downward from the roadside and then rises, perhaps around a thousand yards from the road. However, this rising terrain is affected by a sunken area on the side of the hill that creates a kind of bowl effect. This I found interesting enough to paint.
