The work is my contribution to the Matters Remade project, a year long collaboration between The Glasgow School of Art and Midton Plastics, Acrylic experts based in Lochgilphead, Scotland. Midton had approached GSA in 2021 to propose students within the Sculpture and Environmental Art Department take Midton's new 60% recycled material "remade" and push its limits through sculptural creation. A recycled pine wood frame forms the supporting structure to which thin strips of pink remade are hand woven on top of using a heat gun to gently soften the acrylic, allowing it to perform the tight curves in which are demonstrated in the final sculpture.
