A state of mind is a portrait painting of a man who experienced poor mental ill health during lockdown. He experienced ups and downs in his emotions, his thoughts were incoherent as described by the jumbled letters. I painted his skin grey as he was depressed and often felt the energy leave him on a daily basis. The composition shows his daily struggle and the pink hands represent the warmth and shiled he hids behind to protect himself. This piece was painted using oils and spray paints.
