Collage continues to surface in my work and I found it helpful exploring the concept of harmony/disharmony in this painting. With its hard edges bringing forms, patterns and textures into focus along with a bit of visual discord I hope to challenge viewers to stop and look and to see the world from a different perspective.
I used a limited palette in this painting to create a cohesive look and feel. Asymmetrical balance governed the consideration of the arrangements of the different elements in this painting to make it more interesting, focusing on the visual weight within the painting to achieve a balanced design.
