Alan Brash

In 2022 I decided to end my corporate career and focus on my passion for making art that I had as a youngster.  I took up the brushes again in June 2022 an explored portraiture and figurative work, in different medium; charcoal, print making, oils and acrylics. I have developed a style that references the human form and exposes the shapes and marks that form expressions and emotion. I have exhibited at GSA and preparing to exhibit at Glasgow University at the request of the Philosophy Department. I have also collaborated and enjoy working as a collective with makers I enjoy creating with.  There is much more to explore and discover and I am pleased to have received an unconditional offer from GSA to begin the Portfolio Preparation course with the intent to move to the degree course. This is something I would never have envisaged when sitting at my desk, suited and booted.  A life of making and expressing myself through my art is the one that now full fills me.
