Michael Mullen

My work is primarily a testament to my enduring preoccupation with painting and drawing, but it also reflects my fascination with the physical world I inhabit, and my emotional response to it. These things are perhaps inextricably connected, since the subjects I choose invariably have some symbolic significance, which can be very personal, or more universally understandable, but they also reflect my interest in the formal challenges they pose, and fulfil my desire to engage in the activity of making pictures.
